  • WHY DON'T GT SERVER JOIN LINKS WORK?
GameTracker.com requires that the GT Lite client is installed on your computer for the "Join" server links to function properly. These join links (formatted as "gt://"), are URL types recognized by GT Lite. These links are similar to standard URL types such as "http://", "https://", and "mailto:". If your web browser does not launch these links, you will have to configure your web browser to launch "GTLite.exe" when a "gt://" link is activated. These links are also known as URL types, URI types, and MIME types.
  • HOW DO I REQUEST A NEW GAME?
If you are looking to have a game added to GT Lite, you may create a new post on our forum and request that we add it. You may also request it through the GT Lite client (Help -> Request Game). If you are a game publisher or have technical information about a game, this can be submitted to us [here]:
  • HOW DO I SETUP SCREENSHOTS?
Before taking any screenshots in-game, you must choose which key to use. This setting can be changed in the GT Lite "Settings" window, under the "Screenshots" tab. Once you have configured a hot-key, simply press the key while playing a game and GT Lite will take a screenshot. GT Lite will play a sound after the screenshot has been taken.
  • I CANNOT TAKE A SCREENSHOT! (or) SCREENSHOTS DON'T WORK!
If your GT Lite games-list window states "Unable to take screenshot for [INSERT GAME HERE]", then it could be due to one of the following conditions:
    • You are trying to take a screenshot in a game where previously you have disabled screenshot support. Screenshot support can be changed on a per-game basis by opening the "Edit Game" window (Located in the GT Lite "Settings" window, under the "Games" tab), and changing the check next to "Enable screenshots".
    • You are trying to take a screenshot in a game which uses an anti-cheat technology such as PunkBuster. Due to the design of PunkBuster, it may detect GT Lite's screenshot system as a cheat. We have disabled screenshots by default for certain games which this has become a known issue, these games include:
Call of Duty 4, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Battlefield 2, Medal of Honor (2010)
If you would like to enable screenshot support in these games, you can do so by opening the "Edit Game" window (Located in the GT Lite "Settings" window, under the "Games" tab), and check "Enable screenshots".
    • Your video driver is out-of-date. Video card manufacturers often update their drivers to help maximize compatibility for games and game-related software (such as GT Lite). Please ensure you are using the latest video driver available for your computer.
    • You are trying to take a screenshot in a game that uses a graphics technology not yet supported by GT Lite. For Windows users, GT Lite has strong support for Direct3D 9 and OpenGL based games. For Mac users, GT Lite has strong support for OpenGL based games only. Direct3D/OpenGL are technologies used by game developers to make games. Most game developers will specify which technology their game uses in their "minimum system requirements" documentation.
      Technologies not yet supported: Direct3D 8, Direct3D 10, Direct3D 11.
Some games will allow you to choose a "DirectX"/"Direct 3D" version and/or "OpenGL". Choosing "Direct3D 9" or "OpenGL" will help maximize compatibility.
    • You are trying to take a screenshot in a native 64-bit game. GT Lite does not yet support 64-bit games on either Windows or Mac. Do not confuse a 64-bit game with a 64-bit operating system. For example, most 32-bit games run on 64-bit Windows and GT Lite remains compatible with these games. You can determine whether or not the game is 32-bit or 64-bit by using your system's task manager utility.
    • You are a Windows user, trying to take a screenshot in a Direct3D 9 game which has anti-aliasing or "FSAA" enabled. GT Lite supports games which use anti-aliasing or "FSAA", however the compatibility is greater when this game feature is turned off. These settings are usually located in a game's "video" or "graphics" settings.
  • SCREENSHOTS ARE SLOW! (or) SCREENSHOTS LAG MY GAME!
If you notice screenshots slowing down your gaming experience, the following tips may help:
    • Choose "BMP" (bitmap) as the image type for saving screenshots. This setting can be changed in the GT Lite "Settings" window, under the "Screenshots" tab.
    • For Windows users, disable anti-aliasing or "FSAA" while playing a game. These settings are usually located in a game's "video" or "graphics" settings. Although your game will not look as smooth, this will greatly increase screenshot compatibility and performance. This affects Direct3D 9 games.

  • HOW DO I RESOLVE "Unable to launch requested game as it is not a known game."
If you are experiencing this error, it is because you are trying to launch a game that GT Lite doesn't recognized as "installed". You probably have experienced this by clicking a GT "join" link.
GT Lite does not come with any games.
GT Lite only recognizes games that you have installed on your computer.
To resolve this error, you will have to let GT Lite know where the game is installed on your computer. This can be done using the "Add Game" window, located in the "Games" tab of the "Settings" window.
